
Workshop Foreman (Mechanical)
Employment type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Gloucester
Hours: 7am-4pm Monday -Thursday, 7am-1pm Friday
Salary: £35,000-£38,000 per annum depending on experience
The Role/Company
We are currently working with a highly reputable machinery supplier that specialise in the pelleting industry throughout the UK.
They are looking for an experienced engineer/fitter to join as a Foreman. You will be responsible for managing 3 Workshop Engineers and 2 Field Service Engineers. Your team will mainly be responsible for reconditioning/refurbing machinery. You will report to the on site company director while also liaising closely with the group head office.
You will be required to be hands on and assist & train workshop engineers as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Scheduling Engineer workloads
- Assigning tasks and ensuring work is carried out efficiently and to a high standard
- Ordering materials from suppliers and maintaining stock levels
- Reconditioning mechanical components such as gearboxes, shafts and bearings
- Ensuring health and safety legislation is adhered to in the workshop
- Providing support and guidance to other Engineers
- Maintaining accurate records of work orders, repairs and maintenance activities
- Training and developing staff
Experience/Skills required:
- Experience in mechanical maintenance is essential
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of mechanical principles
- Can do attitude and strong leadership attributes
- Excellent communication skills
- Ideally you will have supervisory experience
- Full UK Driving Licence (Travel will be rare)
