Structural Engineer
Employment type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Chorley
Hours: 40 hours, Monday to Friday (8.00-17.00)
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 p.a. dependant on experience + Company Car
The Role / Company
We are working exclusively with a highly reputable industrial concrete floor sub-contractor based in Chorley. With their experience and expertise, they have established themselves as one of the leading contractors in the UK within their industry.
We are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join the dynamic in-house design team. In this pivotal role, you will be operating as a senior member of the design team and overseeing the development of various ground-floor slab solutions.
Example of responsibilities:
The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare calculations, models, reports, and presentations with high quality.
- Present designs to clients and external consultants at meetings.
- Collaborate with other team members and contribute to design team meetings.
- Maintain communication with the operations team to keep them informed of design changes.
- Provide guidance and support to trainees and less experienced Engineers.
Experience/ Skills Required
- Possess extensive experience in design, having worked on a diverse range of projects conforming to British and European codes of practice.
- Thorough understanding of concrete technology and design principles
- Degree, BEng/MEng/MSc in a relevant subject
- Able to produce drawings using AutoCAD.
- Experience with analysis software such as Tekla & TEDDS or similar is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong team player
- Full UK Driving Licence
