Structural Engineer
Employment type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Appleby, Cumbria
Salary: £40,000-£50,000 per annum depending on experience
Hours: 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday – Some Hybrid working possible
The Role / Company
We are proud to exclusively partner with a renowned consulting engineering practice with a specialisation in conservation. Our client focuses on both new construction and repairs to various historical structures, including cathedrals, bridges, monuments, churches, castles, and listed buildings.
As a member of their engineering team, you will play a vital role in investigating defects in historic structures. You will also be involved in the structural design of new interventions in these structures, collaborating closely with esteemed conservation architects.
Example of responsibilities:
The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Investigating defects in historic structures and buildings
- Assisting in the structural design of new interventions in historic structures
- Working with established conservation architects
- Conducting site visits and inspections
- Preparing drawings in Vectorworks
- Writing reports and specifications
- Familiarity with design principles and Eurocodes in main structural materials
- Continuous professional development and training in the field of conservation engineering
- Ambition to progress within the specialist field of conservation engineering
Experience/ Skills Required
- Relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong team player
- Happy to travel to sites in North England (fully expensed travel)
- Full UK Driving Licence
