Mechanical Design Engineer
Employment type: Permanent, full-time
Location: Swadlincote, Derbyshire
Salary: £30,000-£40,000 p.a. depending on experience + Company Benefits
Hours: Monday-Thursday: 9am-5pm, Friday: 9am-3pm
Our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer join their team on a permanent basis in Swadlincote. They design, manufacture and supply specialist heavy machinery for industries such as recycling and quarrying. As an industry leader they can provide an opportunity to grow and develop your career as a Mechanical design Engineer.
Ideally you will have 3D CAD Design experience within mechanical engineering.
Example of Mechanical Design Engineer responsibilities:
- Creating detailed mechanical drawings and specifications using SolidWorks PDM
- Developing and creating innovative design concepts for heavy machinery.
- Collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and functionality.
- Participating in prototype assembly and testing processes.
- Conducting risk assessments and addressing safety concerns in the design.
- Preparing and reviewing technical documentation and reports.
- Collaborating with manufacturing teams to ensure successful production and assembly.
- Keeping up to date with industry trends and advancements in heavy machinery design.
- Troubleshooting and resolving design and production issues.
- Responding to customer feedback and making design improvements based on user experiences.
Experience/ Skills Required
- Degree in related engineering subject is preferred
- Experience with 3D CAD Design is essential with knowledge of SolidWorks PDM preferred,
- Must be able to commute daily to Swadlincote
- Excellent communication skills
