Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Dukinfield
Hours: 8 am – 4 pm, Monday to Friday
On Call: 1 in 3 weeks (6 am Monday – 6 am Saturday) – Few calls out per year.
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 p.a. depending on experience + overtime available + Call out fee.
As a Maintenance Technician, your role will be pivotal in strengthening the resolution, diagnosis, and execution capabilities of the Maintenance team. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be part of a team of engineers responsible for maintaining and developing the manufacturing plant and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing defects on plant/equipment.
- Fault finding on equipment breakdowns.
- Responding quickly and efficiently to maintenance issues on site to minimise downtime.
- Performing regular maintenance checks.
- Assisting with equipment upgrades and machinery modifications.
- Assembling equipment using engineering drawings or experience and knowledge.
- Working with industrial machines, machine installations, and maintenance.
- Prioritising safety requirements and conducting Risk Assessments before undertaking work.
- Being willing to go the extra mile to keep the site operational.
- Participating in the call-out rota to provide 24-hour emergency engineering coverage when necessary.
Requirements:
- HND/NVQ or equivalent engineering related qualification.
- Posse 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulation Certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with fault finding using PLCs.
- Able to commute to Dukinfield on a daily basis.
