Industrial Gas Engineer (Burner Engineer)

 

Employment type: Permanent, full-time

Hours: 40 Hour standard contracted hours per week

Location: Manchester (Field Based)

Salary: £35,000 £39,000 per annum salary dependent on experience – OTE realistic £55K plus

Due to continued growth, my client is currently recruiting for an Industrial Gas Engineer to join their organisation. This is a mobile role, covering the UK. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a crucial role in joining our skilled mobile engineering team

 

The Role

 

The work involves fault finding, servicing, repairs, and installing various types of gas burners (forced draught/package and atmospheric on indirect and direct appliances), gas pipework, and associated gas equipment/controls. You will be required to complete digital reports to ensure traceability.

Our client pays particular emphasis to the food process industry with their mobile service engineers dedicating themselves to providing quality and flexibility to suit all our customer’s needs.

Experience/ Skills Required

 

  • Recognised Gas Qualifications – ACS qualifications across gas commercial and industrial equipment, applications, and installations such as; COCN1 or CODNCO1, ICPN1, TPCP1, CIGA1, CDGA1 & CORT1
  • Strong Initiative
  • Motivated
  • Ambitious
  • Capable of working unsupervised and also as part of a team when required

Desirables

  • ACS qualification in LPG, ComCat 1&3, BMP1, TPCP1/A, CPA1, CCN1 CENWAT & HTR1.
  • IPAF & PASMA
  • Electrical Qualifications
  • Experience in industrial food process sector, mechanical, electrical, or pipework installations.

 

Overtime Rates:

First and last 30 minutes of each day not paid (reasonable commute) Monday to Friday only.

30 minutes of unpaid lunch break

Mon to Fri – Time and half

Saturday AM – Time and half

Saturday PM – Double time

Sunday – Double time

Travel time – paid at the prevailing overtime rate (either 1.5 or x2)

On-call / standby – 9 days every 7 weeks with standby payment paid per day on call

Callouts paid door to door

All weekend and working away hours are paid door to door

 

Requirements:

There is a requirement to work away, work some weekends along with early starts and late finishes.

  • Scheduled into a 24hr on-call rota (average 1 week in 7)
  • Available for up to two Saturdays a month as overtime.
  • Available to work away up to 8 days per month. (On average up to 4 nights in any one instance with hotels paid in advance by the employer)
