Engineering Manager (Compressed Air)
Employment type: Permanent, full-time
Location: Brighouse (2-3 days office based: 2-days field-based: potential for 1-day work from home)
Hours: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £45,000-£55,000 p.a. + Company Vehicle + Annual Bonus (typically between £4,000-£6,000 per annum
We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager to join our client’s business on a permanent basis. Our client assists customers in achieving compliance and meeting safety regulations with compressed air and steam equipment and systems in a variety of environments.
The Role
The Engineering Manager will lead a team of Engineering Surveyors who work nationwide. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Engineering Manager will play a vital role in the running of my client’s operations and their responsibilities will include:
- Being a key point of contact for engineers and providing technical support for the field-based team.
- Carrying out surveys and statutory examinations to produce Written Schemes of Examination.
- Weekly field observations and assessments.
- Training and development of engineers.
- Monitoring of job delivery metrics and efficiency.
- Identifying and driving opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Monthly management pack creation.
- Supporting the business development team where necessary.
Experience/ Skills Required
- Broad experience with a range of pressure systems, and compressed air would be essential with mixed gas and steam systems ideal.
- Knowledge of regulations and directives, such as PSSR.
- Knowledge of Written Scheme of Examination.
- Desired – potential to become a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng)
- Previous management experience would be preferred.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
