Electronics Engineering Team Leader

Location: Farnborough
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £60,000-£80,000 p.a. + company benefits
We are currently working exclusively with a Marine Technology business. Due to continued growth, they are now recruiting for an Electronics Engineering Team Leader to join their organisation on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
- Leading a team of electronic engineers to execute complex electronics design projects from concept to boards manufacturing. This includes testing, troubleshooting and integration with other systems.
- Evaluating electronic components including sensors and electronic submodules from vendors with a focus on PCB design, microcontrollers, data conversion chips, passive components, semiconductors.
- Evaluating and implementing best PCB design practices, industry standards and wiring practices.
- Designing tests and validating routines.
- Preparing product reports and recommendations on components.
- Evaluating and implementing DC power control electronics with position feedback, communications electronics and data storage electronics.
- Preparing BoMs to be sent to third party companies, manufacturing high quality PCBs.
Experience/ Skills Required
- Degree qualified in Electronic Engineering.
- Extensive experience in the design of complex electronic circuits and robotics systems.
- Experience working with 3rd party electrical design engineering firms to deliver PCB products.
- Ability to design and perform testing of components for reliability and functionality.
- In depth knowledge of microprocessors, high efficiency step-up and step-down DC/DC converters, A/D converters, control systems (PID), timing systems, motor drivers, DC motors, stepper motors, digital encoders, RF systems and of the following protocols: SPI, I2C, RS232, RS485, RS422, Ethernet.
- Experience in EMI shielding design and noise level reduction on analogue systems.
- Firmware development experience in C or C++.
- Experience of PCB CAD software.
- Good working knowledge of lab equipment including oscilloscopes, function generators and spectrum analysers.
- Experience of leading a team.
