Design and Production Support Manager
Employment type: Permanent
Hours/Duration: 7am – 4pm, Monday-Friday
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum + Company Benefits

We are delighted to exclusively partner with an industry leader in the design and manufacture of products for the construction industry.
They are looking for a motivated and successful Design and Production Support Manager to join their Team. The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the procurement of new products and tooling and to support of the production manager and external design engineer with the implementation of the new/modified products into the production process.

Example of Responsibilities as the Design and Production Support Manager:
- Supervise the procurement of new products and tooling.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to oversee the transition of inventory from old products to new/modified products.
- Coordinate with an external support engineer for technical information and software support resources to implement the new or modified product into the production process, including tasks such as punch tool commissioning, punch lights, and software instructions.
- Acquire in-depth technical expertise in the company’s products and the manufacturing process.
- Conduct incoming inspections of all received batches, involving random sample testing of existing tooling and suppliers and 100% testing of new products or new suppliers.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to production process quality.
- Maintain and upgrade production plant and equipment.
- Develop and implement new processes and procedures, including operator training.
- Serve as a member of the team responsible for Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) matters.
- Manage the toolroom staff in conjunction with external technical leadership.
- Assume a leadership role in design projects.
Skills/Experience:
- Proficient in procurement management.
- Strong inventory management capabilities.
- Previous experience in successfully implementing new products into the production process is desired.
- Proven ability to maintain and enhance the quality of production processes, including the identification and resolution of issues.
- Skilled in the development and implementation of new processes and procedures.
- Leadership experience in design projects or similar creative initiatives.
