
Contractor Compliance Manager
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Luton
Hours: 8.30 – 4.30 Monday to Thursday, 8.30 – 4.00 Friday – Some hybrid options available after probationary period.
Salary: £50,000 per annum.

The Role
My client is currently recruiting for a Contractor Compliance Manager. This role is responsible for driving ongoing improvement in compliance within the Technical Services Department, with a particular emphasis on ensuring contractor compliance with all relevant legislation. The role will involve managing the contractor permit system, conducting audits and spot checks, and assisting with formal audits. The aim is to consistently meet statutory requirements and protect the overall wellbeing and safety of the facility.
Example of Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for the management and development of the Contractors Management System, including policy reviews and updates.
- Serve as a primary point of contact and provide advice to the Compliance Officer on significant non-compliance issues.
- Chair and participate in governance meetings as requested by the Maintenance Operations Manager.
- Regularly monitor Contractor inductions to ensure accurate maintenance of the Contractors Management System database.
- Develop, review, and modify the Contractor audit program, and provide support for all scheduled audits and ad-hoc inspections.
- Collaborate with the Compliance Officer and H&E Departmental representative to conduct investigations into non-compliance, identifying root causes and proposing effective remedies to mitigate future risks.
- Monitor and update the Contractor non-Compliance tracker, identifying any violations or trends for the Maintenance Operations Manager’s attention.
- Assist the Compliance Officer in maintaining legislative compliance and addressing any identified non-conformities or audit observations.
- Fulfil any reasonable requests from the Maintenance Operations Manager.
Skills Required:
- Thorough understanding and experience in Contractor Management with a strong background in CDM.
- Proven track record in a similar role is a must.
- Excellent ability to develop and implement engineering policies and processes.
- Possession of NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective report writing and investigation.
