Area Manager – Utilities

Employment type: Permanent, full-time

Location: Penrith, Cumbria

Salary: £45,000-£55,000 per annum + Car + Benefits Package

Due to continue growth, my client is now seeking an Area Manager to join the business on a permanent basis. You will manage Multi Utility constriction projects across the Cumbria region

My client is a well-established Multi Utility Contractor who are growing at a rapid pace due to their excellent reputation.

Example of responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Project Managers to deliver Multi Utility Projects across the region.
  • Oversee the stores function to ensure appropriate stock levels are available and delivery of materials enables business delivery.
  • Manage pre-construction activities in planning stages of new awards, liaise with estimating and design team to ensure full understanding of projects and attend project handover meetings.
  • Drive efficiency of Project Managers and teams for better commercial performance, through excellent planning and control of works.
  • Illustrate good practice of SHEQ, Operations, Delivery of Business and Customer excellence within region.
  • Complete audit schedule as required and record PMs delivery of same.
  • Partnership with the commercial team to achieve projects most cost effectively but within specification.

Experience/ Skills Required

  • Experience within the utilities industry is essential. Ideally Multi Utilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent commercial awareness
  • Full UK Driving Licence
